3G in Pakistan will be available by this march
Everybody wants blazing internet speed on their phones as well as other devices. 3G was a question mark for Pakistanis. India has 3G services enabled why not Pakistan? 2013 has been a good year for Pakistan in almost every field. Its like Pakistan would finally get 3G service this year by march most probably. In December 2012, The target was to achieve 3G in January 2013. But as usual 3G’s got a delay again. We can’t blame an individual for this delay because there are many difficulties they are facing behind the scenes.
Getting 3G in Pakistan is not an easy task to do, its a billion dollar thing. Pakistan has already lost million dollars in 2011 and 2012 for 3G. The government expects to raise at least $630 million from the 3G auction, having set a base price of $210 million for each licence. This time Pakistan is stepping very carefully, they definitely don’t want inflation in the country.
Government of Pakistan is expected to get USD 900 million through the auction whereas, another USD 1 billion will be invested by the successful bidders, added Chairman PTA.
To see why 3G is important in Pakistan we refer you to this post by Mr. Pervez Iftikhar.
