In India a 7 year old girl raped in school

A 7 year old girl has been admitted to the hospital after being raped at school. She attends a Government school in Mangolpuri area in north-west Delhi.
The girl is studying in grade ll in a primary school run by Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). The incident took place on Thursday afternoon inside the school campus. The case has been registered by the police but the victim is not able to identify the attacker.
The girl has been admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital and the doctors claim that her situation is not risky and she will be alright very soon. Though she had some internal bleeding which have been mostly cured.
It has been two days and still police has failed to make any arrests. Though the security guard of the school along with two male teachers have been detained and are being questioned for their connections.
People were enraged at this incidence and around 300 people gathered around the hospital as a protest. The protestants turned violent and were thrashed by the police badly.
Rape has become a part of the culture of Delhi. Train, Bus, office, roads and now school, no area is safe for women. Every time hundreds of people protest but still the government and the law enforcement agencies have failed in taking any strong action against such incidences and not yet been successful in stopping them to happen.
India claims to be the world’s biggest democracy has failed in protecting the women then how is it going to give proper rights to a common man. Is democracy only for the elites? Does police only entertain the elite of the India and the rest have to live “at their own risk”? Isn’t it time for the UN to intervene and take control of the situation and India has failed in doing so? Indian Government has to answer a lot of questions.
