Plan of the tallest building in the world in Karachi has CANCELLED
The rumor of the World’s tallest building leaked by none other than one of the richest men of Pakistan and the ex chairperson of Bahria Town, Malik Riaz. This was proved wrong Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al-Nahayan on Sunday in an official statement said that the US$45bn memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Abu Dhabi group and Malik Riaz’s Bahria Town group has been cancelled.
Talking to Arabian news he clearly said that “there was never a financial commitment”.
Couple of days back, Malik Riaz claimed that Abu Dhabi group is interested in investing billions of dollars in Pakistan, mainly Sindh, for the development of the residential properties in Karachi which included the tallest building in the world.
The statement issued earlier stated a different story by telling that the agreement signed was to provide technical support and assistance to Bahria town and it was actually a “non-binding preliminary agreement”. Which clearly means that Pakistan was not and is not going to have the tallest building in the world, it was just the dream of Malik Riaz perhaps.
Sheikh Nahayan has already some investments in Pakistan like he is the founding chairman of Bank Alfalah Limited and chairman of WARID Telecom International.
